Biography

Koba LaD, whose real name is Marcel Junior Loutarila, is a young French rapper of 21 years old from Évry. He started rapping at the age of fifteen and formed the group Seven Binks with his friends Kaflo and Shotas. The group quickly disbanded to allow each of them to pursue a solo career.

Thanks to his Freestyle Ténébreux series, he was spotted and signed in 2018 on the Def Jam label. The EP Ténébreux was released in 2018, followed by his first album entitled VII in reference to his building number (7) in Evry. In 6 months, the opus was certified Platinum Disc with more than 100 000 sales in France. After a few new singles and freestyles, his second album L’Affranchi was released in 2019. He co-founded his own label Grinta Records with his two managers, Deuspi and Dopijack, and unveiled a third album in 2020, Détail, on which he invited Vald, Ninho, Maes, Zed and Freeze Corleone. This year, Koba LaD released a new mixtape called Cartel: Volume 1 and took part in the collective project Le classico organisé, initiated by Jul, bringing together more than 150 rappers from the Bouches-du-Rhône and Île-de-France.
