Biographie
Alexandra Ioana Stan, born on 10thJune 1989 in Constanța, Romania, is a Romanian singer-songwriter and composer. Having been awarded numerous prizes in Japan and Europe, Stan is often thought of as one of the most famous artists in her country. She is part of a wave of Romanian artists thrust into the limelight in the 2000s, including individuals such as Akcent, Inna and even Edward Maya.
At the age of 20, having been spotted in a karaoke bar, Alexandra Stan recorded her first track, entitled Show Me the Way, which was released as a promotional single in Romania. It was then her following single, Lollipop (Param Pam Pam), which brought her major recognition in her native country. Alexandra Stan draws the inspiration which shapes her music from the diversity of nationalities in her home town. With idols including Michel Jackson, Rhianna, Adele, Coldplay and even Years & Years, the singer soaks up influences from right across the board, she is also a dedicated fan of the Brazilian singer Anitta, the legendary figure Madonna, David Guetta, Sia as well as Sting and Robbie Williams
Having gained huge public attention in 2010 with the runaway success of her single Mr. Saxobeat, the singer released her first studio album, Saxobeats, in 2011 along with its exclusive Japanese re-release, Cliché (Hush Hush), in 2013. With cult status in Japan, following her unparalleled success, the artist released a succession of three albums between 2014 and 2018 with Unlocked, Alesta and then Mami, the first album recorded on her own independent label: Alexandra Stan Records.
Today, the star of Saxobeat, who got the whole world dancing, is back with a brand-new single titled “Tikari” featuring LiToo, a sure-fire way to brighten up lockdown across France.
